Slekten Kielland er en norsk slekt som stammer fra gården Aamodt i Sogndal, Rogaland. Larens nevnes i 1519, Bjørn (d. ca. 1613) og sønnen Lauritz (d. 1637). Hans sønn Niels Lauritzen (1618–1673) var lensmann i Sogndal og bykslet ca. 1665 den beneficierte gården Kielland i Sogndal som familien tok navn etter.
Gården var knyttet til slekten fram til 1848. Hans sønn, borger til Kristiansand, skipper og handlende i Sogndal Jacob Nielsen Kielland (1665–1726), var far til borger til Kristiansand og Stavanger, handelsmann i Sogndal Jan Jacobsen Kielland (1693–1765) som fikk sønnen kjøpmann, borger i Stavanger Gabriel Kirsebom Kielland (1724–1780).
Fra Gabriels sønner Jan og Morten Henrik kan to linjer følges, og fra broren Jacob Kielland (1726–1788) kan en tredje linje følges.

It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who I am, and why I do the things I do.
